Adam D. Perler, DPM, FACFAS PDF Print E-mail
perler I was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana right before high school.  I attended North Central High School and then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  I knew from an early age that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine.  It wasn't until I was in college that I decided to specialize in foot and ankle disorders. I have always been athletically inclined and was always fascinated with how much stress the body could endure through the various activities I got involved in.

The decision to pursue a career in foot and ankle care was made when I spent some time shadowing a friend and mentor who happened to be a cardiologist at a local homeless care shelter.  That was perhaps when I first realized how important a properly functioning foot was to survival.  I knew from then on, I would focus my attention to keeping people on their feet doing the activities they enjoy most.

My foot and ankle training started at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.  I then did a three year surgical residency at Palmetto General Hospital, where my main focus was trauma and reconstruction of the lower extremity.

Brenda J. Chezem, CST PDF Print E-mail
chezemI graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associated Degree in Surgical Technology in 2000 and immediately began working in orthopedics as a certified surgical technologist (CST).  I have had the pleasure to work with Dr. Perler for over 5 years now.  While I enjoy my job for several reasons, perhaps the most rewarding is that I get to know each patient prior to surgery, assist Dr. Perler during surgery, and see the results following the surgery.  It is very rewarding to see the positive impact surgery can have on a patient's life, especially when it helps to get them back on their feet and back on track to pursue their life's goals.  When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and golfing.

Kelli Orcutt, MA PDF Print E-mail
orcuttMy name is Kelli. I attended Ball State University and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After working in the schools, I realized that speech was not for me. Being an 'accident prone' kid, I remembered all those times when I was little going to the immediate care centers and realized I wanted to be a medical assistant. I wanted to help people feel better and make it the best experience I could while they were sick. I attended Indiana Business College at night while I worked a full time job and graduated with an associates degree in Medical Assisting in September 2006.  I started working in family practice until hired by Dr. Perler to work in foot & ankle care in December 2006. In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis, disc golf, jogging, and watching football with my friends.
